Busy and Painful

We've been really busy over at our house and I feel like I am almost just floating along through it.  I've had a migraine for over a week.  I am so over the pain it isn't even funny.  It makes it really hard to focus and remember things through the fog of pain.  Can't slow down though, there is just too much going on!  Thankfully after another week it will calm down quite a bit.  Next Saturday is the Destination Imagination tournament, so we just have to make it through then.  With four kids each on a different team, with added practices I'll just say it has been crazy.  The kids are really enjoying it though!

Princess is getting super nervous about the "competition" and having to be in front of people.  Lately she has decided that she is shy.  I have no idea where this has come from!  She has NEVER been shy in her life.  She is the kid that will talk to everyone, who is the little show off.  Now she freaks out around other people, hides behind me, and will not talk to anyone she doesn't know.  If anyone else is around she'll very quietly whisper what she wants to say to me.  It is quite aggravating to me; especially as I have no idea what has brought this on.  Hopefully it is just a phase and will pass.

Picasso is getting ready for his Famous American Wax Museum at school.  He has been learning all about Neil Armstrong for it.  He already knew a lot, as my children are.....well my children.  He's doing a good job on it.  Today he is making platypi, as it is "Platypus Day" according to the Disney Channel.

Thursday night I was at a baby shower and got asked if Picasso was ADD or ADHD.  That just floored me!  At church he doesn't like to sit like the other kids do.  He also is more fidgety and likes to walk around.  He pays attention and can tell you everything that was said.  He participates and answers questions.  He's just more likely to take you on a tangent.  He is definitely a very creative kid and has that artistic temperment, very much in his own world.  To me that does not make a kid ADD or ADHD.  He is not hyper active, he does not have attention problems, he's just Picasso.

Angel is Angel.  She really is just a little angel, so eager to please, so helpful, quiet, and sweet.  She is working really hard with her DI team to get ready for their competition without any complaint.  Really she is just a good kid.

Archer got in a huge amount of trouble this past Tuesday.  He was asked to work on cleaning his room and decided to shove everything under his brothers bed.  We discovered it while he was gone to a church youth activity.  When he came home he got asked if he cleaned up and put everything away in the right place.  He lied and said that he had.  I have been very impressed though the rest of the week as he has totally owned up to his mistake and completely cleaned his room top to bottom.  I am glad that he owned  up to his lie and took his punishment to heart.

That's us at the moment.  Busy and I am in pain.  What a pain that is!  Literally and figuratively.  I wish I could get rid of the pain, but am glad that my family loves me enough to work around the pain.
